Norvan's Gallery

We have a lot of fun out on the water and we all take photos to prove it. In the following albums you can browse through our antics and see some of the great shots people have taken of adventures on the water, both here and abroad!

If you have a cool shot, feel free to forward it with a story for the Photo Album!

Norvan was well represented at the Waterfront Park adjacent to the North Vancouver Sea Bus Terminal on July 1.  Thanks to Bob Lowden for bringing and taking the gear, setting up, and promoting Norvan.  Also thanks to Rhonda Jones and Pam Boudreau for their assistance in manning the booth.   Thanks to our P.R.O. Web Teetzel for preparing the new Fall 2008 brochures.

Norvan enjoyed a birthday recently! We're 50! And to celebrate we had a party! Since I was busy having fun, the photos are limited, but I've included a few for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy. Updated!! View album.....

The flare disposal event went well by all accounts. In total, we took in over 150 lb of expired flares - more than 6 boxes.

Sergeant Joe Arduini did a fantastic job with his end of the organization. In discussions during the day, he suggested holding another event next year to catch those who may have missed this year, and then having them every two years thereafter.

Holding this event saves the RCMP a great deal of difficulty. Those bringing in expired flares generally need to undergo all filling out of numerous forms required by the RCMP, but holding this event circumvented those hassles. Hope to see you there next year!.

2008 Spring Student Cruise

The weather gods smiled upon us. In the past we've been beset upon by rain, snow, fog, wind...you name it...but someone paid the gods off this year. While it wasn't the blazing sun we would have appreciated, the bright round orb broke through for a while, and although it did cloud over, the rains were held at bay. Thanx to all who joined in! See the Slide Show ....

Greek Adventure Anyone?

Interested in knowing what it's like to sail the Greek Islands for three weeks? Two of our members went on just such a trip in 2005. The hitch? They're both powerboaters! If you're interested in a read, they created a Blog complete with charts and photo albums while they were on their trip. It's a long read, but it's quite the story...and the pictures really make you want to join them next time. Read on....

Update! We're gonna do it again! Apparently we didn't suffer enough indignation the first time around...we have decided to save our pennies and go back for a month this time! This time we are going to let you in on our plans...just in case anyone else wants to come along. Now, we're not actually inviting you on our boat (sorry) but if you are interested in chartering a boat and bumbling along with us in a flotilla, hey, the more the merrier! And we know where the cheap wine is! We aren't going until May 2009 so there's lots of time to plan!

Stay tuned for part deux.....
