What is an RSS Feed?
RSS feeds are a mechanism for letting you know about changes to this website, provide notifications of events etc.
How do I subscribe?
If you would like to subscribe to the feeds from Norvan, there are a couple of options. You can choose to subscribe within your browser and it will notify you of when a new feed has been posted when you open the browser, and it may connect it with Outlook.......
Just click on the little blue RSS icon anywhere in the site.
I'm having trouble!
Alternatively, if you are an Outlook 2007 user and are having problems convincing the single click procedure to work, there is a manual work-around. Click on the RSS feeds icon in your folders list (probably below your Outbox), right click your mouse and choose "Add a new RSS feed" and enter the following URL:
http://norvan.cps-ecp.org/rss/Norvan.xml
That's it! A new folder should show up in your RSS feeds that will update every time you open Outlook and a new feed exists on the Physiology Section site.

Plugins
Outlook 2007 will automatically add any RSS feeds that you select in Internet Explorer. But what if you are running older software and you want to join? You still can, you just need a little workaround.
Here are two programs that can be used. The first is for Outlook Express, the second for Outlook (older versions). When you install either, you will (unfortunately...but it's free so you get what you pay for) be subscribed to a bunch of feeds. Once it is all done installing you can delete them though and they won't show up anymore.

1. Then, simply click on Edit Feeds (below the main toolbar)
2. Click on New
3. Cut and paste the following into the Link box:
http://norvan.cps-ecp.org/rss/Norvan.xml
4. Click OK, then OK again
5. The feed should now show up in your Outlook under a folder called RSS

Mac OS X: NetNewsWire - This elegant Mac-like aggregator is easy to use and powerful.
Windows: SharpReader - Simple, but gets the job done.
Linux: Straw The best aggregator for GNOME.
Sage is a lightweight RSS and Atom feed reader extension for Mozilla Firefox. It's got a lot of what you need and not much of what you don't.
AmphetaDesk - A news aggregator you access through a web browser. (Mac/Win/Linux)
FeedReader - Like SharpReader, but sporadically updated. (Win)
rss2email - Reads RSS feeds and sends each new item to you as an email. (Unix)
dynamicobjects spaces - Displays RSS feeds in an Outlook-like interface. (Mac/Win/Lin)
